HI,
While testing 1.80 beta 1, I found some issues, most of them small:
- Cannot compile it, configure return this error: config.status: error: cannot find input file: doc/it/Makefile.in. I can go ahead after remove any lines that point to doc/it.
- When you pass the mouse over the media button, it's expanded to show the floppy mounting point, while the others mounting points are already displayed. This is normal?
- The Window menu display two entries that appears to do the same: Swap Panels and Swap Sides.
- In Selection Mode, there is some inconsistency between the options. The first two have circles (radios?) and the rest square selection boxes. See this image:
- In the new dialog for pack files, there is a message, 'The passwords are equal', that appears even before you type any password. This is strange because the message have to appear after you type and re-type the password, not always.
- There is a small error in this message below, because it points to a menu entrie (Save Position) that is located now in a different menu (Window).
"<p>At startup, the main window will resize itself to the size it was when last shutdown. It will also appear in the same location of the screen, having panels sorted and aligned as they were before.</p><p>If this option is disabled, you can use the menu <i>Settings -> Save Position</i> option to manually set the main window's size and position at startup.</p>"
- The option 'Dim the colors of the inactive panel' appears to do nothing. How it works?
- I created a password protected zip file without problem, but when I try to unpack it, Krusader display a strange dialog with two fields, username and password (in the username field is the word 'archive'). I think this dialog is a little strange because it need to ask just the password... And after I enter the password and try to unpack the file, Krusader return this error:
Anyway, Krusader 1.80 beta 1 is quite a improvement over the previous version, congratulations! |

Does it mean that all the patches in the patch tracker won't get in?
At least the checksum patch fixes some issues (yes, it contains even simple enhacement, because if that would be two patches, they would confilct).
Current version does not process correctly "binary" checksums (produced for example by cfv, or with a switch by the other tools), where there is '*' before the file name (causes an error in one per file mode). Other issue fixed by that patch is that "one-per-file" is disabled for formats, where it does not work now. |

Don't be afraid, Vaclav!
It's a beta release, that quasy means feature freeze.
A bug fixing cycle will start and the stable will contain the fixes.
It's not compulsory to correct every bug for releasing a beta. |

| Ufff. I'll need to check what I have. I don't remember installing any non-edgy libs. Let me get back to you. |

can you explain more what exactly do you do to reproduce this?

they only appear to do the same.

only partially an issue, and in anycase, will be fixed.

agreed. fixed in cvs.

after selecting it, go to the inactive panel tab, select a dim color (eg: black) and a dim factor (eg:80) and then it will work.

agreed. quick work around, step into the archive and copy out of it. it works.

It seems that you need to update some libraries before the Krusader deb package can be used by rwabel
- libc6 (>= 2.5-0ubuntu1)
- libfontconfig1 (>= 2.4.0)
- libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.15~beta5) |

Tried and it works.

This "problem" is ridiculous small; there is no need to worry about this. Look at the two images, the first appears when I click the media button and the second, one second later (no need to pass the mouse over like I said).

Now I understand how it works.

Oh! Now I see the magic!
Thanks.

I'm a bit confused as edgy has 2.4-1ubuntu12 and feisty has 2.5-0ubuntu1 of libc6. Is that package really for edgy? |

The username is compulsory because of a KDE limitation. KDE doesn't allow authentication without a username. Krarc is a KIO slave and must use the KDE KIO-SLAVE methods.
Probably creating a completely new dialog instead of the KDE one may solve the problem. It was easier to use the KDE password dialog... |

infact I think it was compiled with Feisty and named for Edgy.
Should be fixed!

yes but Edgy hasn't this updates officially... and also libc6 is not a small update, don't want to break other stuff... |

Well, the Edgy enigma is solved.
I have 7 packages not from edgy, but from feisty due to some strange apps I tried to use. So in this case this one is a hibrid of edgy and feisty and as such not appropriate for any of them. I think that this package should be removed as it does not belong to any of the two distros.
I'll try to make another over the weekend after I clean my machine... |
