|
|
1.0 Requirements
- KDE >= 3.2.0 with a running KHotKeys daemon
- Krusader (currently tested with 1.70.0-beta2, but much older versions should work too)
1.1 Limitations
- Mouse gestures only affect the active tab of Krusader
- Breaks marking of files with right mouse button when this button is used to trigger mouse gestures
2.0 Preparations
- Launch kcontrol (KDE Control Center) and goto Regional & Accessibility -> KHotKeys
- Ensure the KHotKeys daemon is running (Global Settings -> General Settings -> Disable KHotKeys daemon has to be unchecked)
- Set Global Settings -> General Settings -> Mouse button to Button 3 (secondary). Note: others might work, but are untested and not covered in this howto
- Keep a running Krusader instance in the background, we will need it later
3.0 Create example gesture
Example to get a Konqueror like "New Tab" mouse gesture working in Krusader. The Konqueror gestures will stay untouched.
[ General ]- Create a New Group and give it some descriptive Name (e.g. "Krusader gestures")
- Create a New Action in this Group and give it some descriptive Name (e.g. "New Tab")
- Choose the Action Type: Gesture -> Keyboard Input (simple)
[ Triggers ]- Choose the Edit... combobox
- You will be required to draw your preferred gesture 3 times. We wanted the Konqueror "New Tab" behaviour, so perform the "Up-Up" gesture (the mouse gesture is started with the left mouse button. Once you are done press OK. Note: the gesture will later be performed with the right mouse button
- Now you should see a line saying "Gesture trigger: 258". If not redo the last step, i'm sure you get the idea.
[ Keyboard input settings ]- Choose Keyboard Input... from the New combobox
- In the Keyboard input box enter: Alt+Ctrl+N and apply using the Modify... button
- Set Send Input To to Specific window
- In the New... combobox, choose New -> Simple window
- Optional: Add a descriptive Comment (e.g. "Krusader window")
- Arrange your Krusader and Kcontrol windows in a way where both are visible. Hit the Autodetect button and target the Krusader window. The Window [...] line edits should now be filled with some values.
- Set the Window role combobox to Is
4.0 Test the gesture
- You should now be able to perform the "New Tab" mouse gesture in the active tab of Krusader
- Enjoy.
