It was one of many I tested during my big switch to Linux. I still have links from all that are out there. I don't believe I missed a single one Krusader simply was and is the best.

I came upon Krusader by way of the Xfce forum: http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?t=1253&start=45

Last month I made the switch from Windows XP to Debian Sarge as my workstation. Since then I've been trying out different desktop environments and window managers. I was going to stay with Xfce but Quanta drew me to KDE.

On Windows I used PowerDesk and Beyond Compare so Krusader fits me just fine. Excellent file manager, I was an MC user on Linux so I feel right at home.

Do you have any icons for website placement to promote your project?

Not yet, but you could easyly modify the firefox-button from our website with the Krusader-icon or whatever will fit into your design. If you've got something nice feel free to send it to us because we'Re searching something in this direction...

I'm using 1.51 that's in Sarge, hopefully they'll update it soon to the new version.

If I get impatient, I'll use the deb you pointed me to.

Thanks.

Al my mails "to Debian" you can see here: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=krusader
I try to "improve" the quality of Krusader on Debian

"The problem" is that Angel Ramos (the maintainer of the Krusader package on Debian) ,
does not reply on my mails that i have sended him
He is "the only one" who can update the Krusader package on the Debian servers. http://packages.qa.debian.org/k/krusader.html

I'm using Debian Testing btw.

krusader_1.51-1_i386.deb is the official deb,
I dit build krusader_1.51-2_i386.deb (unofficial deb) otherwise the handbook does not work in the KDEHelpcenter (a "deb"bugfix).
I also build krusader_1.60.0-1_i386.deb (unofficial deb)
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=6488&package_id=6554
Some day, the official deb's will be on the Debian servers i guess.

Dirk i just noticed that the krusader_1.51-2_i386.deb is missing on http://www.krusader.org/down.php

Only the latest package per distribution is shown in the download section. Older releases can be downloaded from our project page at SourceForge.

Let's hope Angel Ramos has the time one day to update the packages.

I'm running Sarge (Testing) also, how would I go about installing your 1.60 deb on my system?

Up till now I've stuck with Debian sanctioned packages but I'm willing to make an exception for the new functionality in Krusader 1.60, especially the synchronization enhancements.

Thanks.

He will, but i don't know when, he maintains the krusader.deb from in the beginning

Al the "magic" in the unofficial krusader_1.60.0-1_i386.deb is based on the official krusader_1.51-1_i386.deb, that Angel Ramos made,
i only 'improved the deb a bit' and sended the paches to Debian and Angel Ramos.
So all the "hard work" of the deb is done by Angel Ramos.

To install Krusader-1.60.0: download krusader_1.60.0-1_i386.deb and run
Code:
# dpkg -i krusader_1.60.0-1_i386.deb

and enjoy Krusader-1.60.0
When the official deb is out you can if you like remove the unofficial deb ( # dpkg -r krusader) and install the official deb.
